“Writers live twice. They go along with their regular life, are as fast as anyone in the grocery store, crossing the street, getting dressed for work in the morning. But there’s another part of them that they have been training. The one that lives everything a second time. That sits down and sees their life again and goes over it. Looks at the texture and the details.” – Natalie Goldberg

What do you think? Do you taste life twice as a writer? I do. What about you?
This is lovely!

Yes, agree. How lucky are writers – experience first hand, and then reflect, and question and learn, and then create.
And then do all the self doubt and revision.

Beautifully said, Libby. At least twice. At times experiences can continue to feed more than one
piece of writing as the many shades appear more clearly.
Never thought of it until now, thanks.

that’s great. thanks Miriam. yes, sometimes certain experiences can generate more than one piece of writing. they say some writers keep writing about the same thing, but in different ways. Libby

Writers are open to life. And usually contemplative. Writing, I think, is a pretty mysterious process.
Take care, Libby.
